Norwalk, Connecticut (August 16, 2021) — The October edition of Jewelers International Showcase (JIS) has officially opened its attendee registration for the 2021 show. As JIS Show’s premier event – taking place Friday, October 8 – Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Miami Beach Convention Center – and its second in-person event since COVID-19 after a successful March show, JIS October is set to be one of the most expansive and diverse jewelry buying events of the year.
JIS is a trade-only jewelry show that provides retailers with the convenience to choose between immediate delivery of purchases right on the show floor, allowing for instant stock and resale in your stores, or placing orders for future shipment. The October show is the largest edition of the three annual JIS shows each year and is known for its strategic timing, allowing buyers to restock their inventory before the busy holiday selling season.
JIS shows welcome retailers, wholesalers, store owners, pawn brokers, and jewelry industry professionals from all over the world, including unique markets of Southeast Florida, Latin America, and the Caribbean. JIS also offers the efficiency of shopping from an extensive range of suppliers of finished jewelry and related products or services, representing all major categories from the most popular jewelry producing regions in the world, all under one roof during ideal buying timeframes for the holidays.
Retail buyer attendance surpassed expectations at JIS March 2021, with nearly 3,000 buyers filling the show floor. With the success of the March edition, JIS expects another positive attendee and exhibitor turnout for the October edition, as retailers and exhibitors alike have been ready to return to normalcy and in-person jewelry trade events:
“[Trade shows] tell us whether the customers are happy about the business or not, and it makes us one with the customer, especially with the independent businesses. It’s where they find all the new trends, and we’re able to meet them in person, so we’re seeing people very excited. There’s a pent-up demand that people want to restore, and it’s all positive. For the jewelry industry, trade shows are vital,” said Vinay Kotak of AV Diamonds.
According to the JIS March post-show survey, 90% of attendees reported that they felt safe as it relates to COVID-19 due to the health and safety measures that were taken onsite. While similar protocols are currently planned to take place for JIS October, these guidelines are subject to change based on the CDC’s latest recommendations, and JIS will continue to responsibly progress during the transition back to normalcy in live events.
JIS expects to have 500-600 exhibitors at the October Show, and will feature a variety of international and specialty pavilions, including The Galleria, Fine Jewelry, Lab Grown Diamonds, Equipment & Tech, Centurion South Beach, Hong Kong, Italy, and more. The New Exhibitor Zone, which made its debut in 2019, is back and expanding with areas in both the Fine Jewelry and Silver & Fashion pavilions. This expansion makes it easier for buyers to find new vendors within these two different segments while vendors will be curated by the products they carry.
